Terms & Conditions

  • By signing up to take part in this event you agree to abide by the conditions of entry and any race instructions given by the organisers and officials of the Perkins Great Eastern Run. The Perkins Great Eastern Run is delivered in accordance with UKA Rules and Regulations. The Perkins Great Eastern Run is organised by Peterborough City Council.
  • Anyone who will be aged 17 or older on or before the event date may apply for entry to the half marathon
  • Children under eight years of age taking part in the Anna's Hope fun run must be accompanied by an adult who has also registered to take part in the Anna's Hope fun run
  • Applications will be accepted up to entry limit (8,000 half marathon and 2,000 Anna's Hope fun run) in the order of date received at the race office
  • Entries can be transferred to another runner up to 31st August 2019 with no charge.  After this time, until 11th October, you may transfer your place to another runner but an administration fee of £7.50 will be charged.  If you require a replacement number sending out for the new person, the administration fee will rise to £10 to cover these costs.
  • Refunds and deferrals: The moment you enter our race we start to incur administration costs. No refund can be given if the race is cancelled or postponed due to circumstances outside of our control. Your entry fee is invested in the staging of the race and main costs to contractors, suppliers, administration etc. are already committed well before race day. By adding Booking Protect for a small fee during your online entry process, you will be able to claim a refund should injury prevent you from taking part. If you decide not to purchase this option, we will be happy to offer a refund minus an administration fee of £7.50 per entrant for anyone wishing to withdraw from the event right up until 31 August at 11.59pm. After this date we regret that we will not be able to provide any refund or credit transfer or credit either in full or in part whatever the circumstances of the entrants’ non-attendance or need to withdraw. All merchandise items are also non-refundable. If a received item is faulty, we will be happy to look into providing a replacement if the fault is down to the manufacturing. Active Network operates our online booking and payment system. In the event of being charged multiple times (in system error) for a single purchase, you can request a chargeback from your bank or c redit card company by following these guidelines:
  • If your postal address or telephone numbers change after your entry is made please inform the race office as soon as possible by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. Failure to do so will mean your race pack will be posted to your old address
  • Only one application per person will be accepted; any fees processed due to individuals submitting duplicate entries are non-refundable.
  • We reserve the right, in our absolute discretion, to refuse to allow you to participate in the event at the start or to continue participation at any point along the route of the event, should you be deemed to behave inappropriately or give cause for concern that your continued participation may cause offence or injury to yourself, any spectator or other competitors. This includes the wearing of any clothing or visual message that may cause offence. Failure to comply with an instruction from race officials will result in ejection from the race and potential reporting to the police
  • Your race pack, including your race number, chip timing device and full information will be posted from the end of August right up until the week of the race.
  • The chip timing mechanism forms part of your race number (on the reverse). Your race number must be clearly visible on the front of your running vest / t-shirt. Your race number must not be altered in any way or covered by clothing or tri belt. Please do not bend, twist or fold your bib, as this will prevent you from recording a chip time. Please also ensure when crossing the finish line that nothing interferes with the view of your race number. Anyone not displaying an official race number will be removed from the race. This includes costumes in the Anna's Hope fun run
  • Entry fees: Half Marathon - £28 for members of UKA affiliated athletic clubs; £30 for unaffiliated entrants. Anna's Hope Fun Run - £13 for entrants 16 years old and over; 16 years and under (on day of race) - £7. Late entry fees come into effect from 20 September 2019. Late entry fee is an additional £3 per person for both Half Marathon, wheelchair race and Anna's Hope Fun Run. There will be a booking fee for entering each race at checkout.
  • Closing date for all online entries is 11 October 2019 at 12pm, or when the race limit has been reached, whichever comes first.
  • All entrants are required to finish the race in under three and a half hours
  • Prizes are awarded on gun times. With the gun time, the clock starts to tick the moment the starter's horn is sounded. UK Athletics road races are competitive races - rather than time trials - therefore competition results, prizes and course records are awarded according to gun time. The chip time is the time a runner takes to run the actual race distance from the moment of crossing the start line to the moment of crossing the finish line. Runners usually think of this as their personal running time and this is the result most people quote when asked for personal best times.
  • For reasons of safety no entries are permissible from people on roller skates, bicycles, in wheelbarrows, or carrying objects for charity etc.
  • The use of headphones and other music playing devices is not permitted in any of the races. This is for your safety, as listening to music during a race may distract you from being able to hear instructions from race o fficials and other runners on the course. We do allow the use of headphones that use bone conduction technology, which allow the wearer to listen to music while still being aware of their surroundings. Bone conduction technology delivers sound through the listeners' cheekbones to the inner ear, allowing you to enjoy your music and still hear everything around you.
  • No pets or other animals are permitted in the race. People with guide dogs will only be permitted to the Anna's Hope fun run if we are advised in advance so that a position at the rear of the race can be allocated. If any partially sighted athlete needs a guide to help them round the half marathon course there will be no entry fee for the guide, although obviously they would not be participating in the race in their own right
  • The course is suitable for self-propelled wheelchairs. Hand cycles are not permitted. The Perkins Great Eastern Run is an inclusive event where we are delighted to welcome disabled participants who compete within the rules of the sports governing body. Hand propelled wheel chair participants and blind runners are particularly welcome, however in a effort to make your participation as enjoyable as possible it is helpful if wheel ch air entrants tick the box on the entry system and blind or visually impaired participants contact us prior to entering the race.
  • Peterborough City Council, in association with RingGo cashless parking, has introduced a special offer for runners to park all day in council car parks for just £3 when you use RingGo cashless parking (50% saving on the machine price). By registering with RingGo today you will save time (avoiding queues at the ticket machines) and money on race day. Visit or use the RingGo smartphone apps. Quote location code 4564 for the discounted price. The code will be live two weeks before the event
  • The Perkins Great Eastern Run adheres to the UK Data Protection Act 1988 and you have the right of access to your personal records held on our computers
  • By entering the event you give permission for the free use of your name, voice or photograph in any broadcast, telecast, advertising promotion or other marketing of this event
  • In the event of cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances we will endeavour to stage the run at a later date if possible. In such an eventuality all participants will be notified by email or post. Our entire liability in respect of all costs and expenses you may incur as a result of such cancellation or delay will be the entry price you have paid to take part in the event
