Armed Forces Invitational Competition
The Perkins Great Eastern Run continues to build a reputation as a competitive half marathon for the country’s armed forces personnel who want to challenge one another at one of the fastest half marathons in the UK.
The Armed Forces Invitational Competition attracts RAF, British Army and Royal Navy male and female teams (four runners in each) from:
- North of England
- Midlands
- Eastern Counties
- Royal Air Force
- British Army
- Northern Island & Ulster
These regional teams are made up of the best male and female runners within each of their selective regions, bridging the gap between competing for your running club and stepping up to national level competition.
With such a strong front field, competitive runners that aren’t representing the armed forces are signing up to pit themselves against some of the country’s most decorated half marathon names.
This intense competition almost always sets The Perkins Great Eastern Run up for an exciting finale where the front runners are swapping places right up until the latter stages of the race.
