Start & Finish Info
The assembly point for the half marathon, wheelchair race and Anna's Hope fun run is at the Embankment where races start and finish.
Here you will find an information point (open from 8am) where the event team will be able to issue pre-arranged race packs and answer any queries you may have.
Secure baggage storage and toilet facilities are also located on site. Baggage labels and your bib / chip timer will be sent out with your race pack before the race.
The chip timing mechanism is attached to the back of your bib. Your bib must be clearly visible on the front of your running vest / t-shirt. Your bib must not be altered in any way or covered by clothing or tri belt. Please do not bend, twist or fold your bib.
Please also ensure when crossing the finish line that nothing interferes with the view of your race bib.
Everyone is encouraged to take part in a mass warm-up, which commences from the stage area shortly after 9am. Event broadcasting will take place from the stage all morning and throughout the day. Presentations will be made on the stage. Please ask at the information point for timings.
Fun run competitors will be asked to move down to the start line at approximately 9.45am for a 10am start.
The wheelchair race will start at 10.25am and the half marathon at 10.30am.
Once the Anna's Hope fun run has cleared the start line, runners in the half marathon will be asked to move towards the start line into bays that are broken down into your expected race time.
Prizes are awarded on gun times. With the gun time, the clock starts to tick the moment the starter's horn is sounded. UK Athletics road races are competitive races - rather than time trials – therefore competition results, prizes and course records are awarded according to gun time.
There will be plenty of stalls, refreshments and a continental market for spectators to enjoy at the Embankment. The city centre shopping area is only a five minute stroll away.
